On your first full day in Germany you will visit the Christmas markets in Cologne. A historic city that offers seven Christmas markets scattered across the city in many wonderful locations. The main four of these are located in Cologne Cathedral, the Alter Markt, the Neumarkt and on the Rudolfplatz. Every year these markets attract two million tourists to their festive markets and once you experience it you will understand why. The Christmas market that is particularly idyllic and well worth a visit, is the one on the Alter Markt, with delightful timber stalls and beautiful houses.

Day three starts with the traditional Christmas markets of Monschau, one of Western Germany's most beautiful towns, featuring half-timbered houses and a stunning setting. Finally, we include an evening visit to Merode Castle, a romantic venue for a remarkable Christmas market. Seeing the castle lit up by thousands of candles and torches and the Christmas village sparkling within the castle grounds will be an unforgettable experience.

Holiday Itinerary : 

Day One (Journey to Germany) - Sit back, relax and let us take care of you. Depart from your chosen local coach joining point and relax as we journey into Germany.

Day Two (Cologne) - Begin the day with an included breakfast before heading to Cologne Christmas Market, here you can explore the many christmas markets scattered round the city. With lots to do and see this will be a very full day!

Day Three (Monschau and Merode Castle) - Enjoy breakfast, then board the coach to the Christmas markets of Monschau. Here you can explore this beautiful town and see what hidden gems you can find in these markets! During the evening we will then move onto the Merode Castle, where you can explore this stunning market within the grounds of this historic castle by moonlight.

Day Four (Germany) - After a festive weekend away, sadly it is time to start our homeward journey. Time permitting, we will make a stop at a cash and carry warehouse before your late afternoon channel crossing and return to your original departure point, full of fond memories.

Acccommodation : 

Guests will stay at the Comfort Hotel Monheim, or similar. Located just 35 minutes from both Cologne and Dusseldorf, this hotel has en-suite bedrooms, a bar and breakfast area serving continental breakfast. It is a brand new, modern hotel which sits on the river Rhine.
